Job summary

Catering Industries Pty Ltd is seeking a Full-Time Chef Manager for a welcoming aged care facility in Corowa, NSW. You will report to the Chef Manager and lead kitchen operations from 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, creating nutritious meals that brighten residents’ days.

With 3+ years in a similar role and a Cert III/IV in commercial cookery, you’ll oversee menu design, stock control, and staff training while maintaining HACCP and food safety standards, including attention to dietary

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in a similar role, aged care experience highly regarded.
• Ability to prepare traditional Chinese dishes to a high standard.
• Cert III or IV in commercial cookery.
• Knowledge of Mandarin language desirable.
• Experience in large volume cooking and working autonomously or in a team.
• Reliable and punctual with collaborative team spirit.
• Experience in ordering, delivery and stock control.
• High QA, WH&S, HACCP and food safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality meals in line with aged care guidelines and HACCP.
• Assist in menu design, changes and implementation.
• Assist with deliveries and general kitchen cleaning duties.
• Serve as a versatile kitchen all-rounder (baking, desserts, soups).
• Prepare special diets such as puree, gluten free and texture modified.
• Organise tasks efficiently and multi-task in a busy kitchen.
• Oversee ordering, food prep, service, staff training/management and payroll approvals.

What You’ll Need

• A current Federal Police Check (or willingness to obtain one) is required for this role.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and a caring attitude.

Skills and experience

• 3+ years experience in a similar role - aged care experience highly regarded.
• Ability to prepare traditional Chinese dishes to a high standard is essential.
• Cert III or IV in commercial cookery.
• Knowledge of Mandarin language will be desirable.
• Experience in large volume cooking as well as work autonomously and in group settings.

Key responsibilities

• Ability to produce high quality meals in line with aged care food service/HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures including low and high care residents.
• Assisting in menu design, changes and implementation.
• Assist with putting away of deliveries & general kitchen clean up duties.
• Good all-rounder in kitchen i.e. scones, cakes, desserts, soups.
• Responsible for preparation of special diets such as puree, gluten free and texture modified etc.
• Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team. Responsible for entire kitchen operation including ordering, food preparation, service, staff training/management and payroll approvals.
