Job description

Vinarchy. Redefining Wine. Elevating Hospitality.

We're reshaping what wine and dining can be, where innovation, craftsmanship and creativity sit at the heart of everything we do, from the wines we pour to the dishes we serve.

About The Role

If you're a chef who craves growth, creativity and a deep connection to ingredients, St Hugo Restaurant is your next step. Just under an hour from Adelaide, surrounded by rolling vineyards and the unmistakable character of the Barossa, St Hugo is known for refined, produce-led dining that celebrates seasonality, precision and the art of pairing food with exceptional wine.

This is a kitchen where technique meets imagination, where you'll cook with purpose, elevate your craft and contribute to experiences that guests remember long after they leave.

Why This Role Stands Out

You'll be part of a tight, supportive team of four, meaning your ideas matter, your development is prioritised and your contribution is felt every day. Working closely with our Executive Chef and Head Chef, you'll refine your skills, explore new flavours and help shape menus that honour the Barossa while pushing creative boundaries.

If you want stability without sacrificing creativity, and you thrive in a high-quality, produce-driven environment... this role offers the perfect balance.

What You'll Do

You'll cook at the level St Hugo is known for - elevated, expressive dishes that honour the Barossa's best ingredients and pair seamlessly with some of Australia's most celebrated wines. Every service is an opportunity to refine technique, explore flavour and contribute to the kind of polished, produce-led dining experience guests travel for. Working closely with senior chefs, you'll help shape menus that reflect the season, the vineyard and the uncompromising standards that define St Hugo's reputation for excellence. You'll also play a key role in keeping the kitchen sharp, organised and humming with the discipline expected of a premium culinary destination.

  • Prepare, cook and plate seasonal produce with the precision St Hugo is known for
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Head Chef on refined, wine-led menu development
  • Support stock control, compliance and the smooth operation of a high-calibre kitchen
What You'll Bring

You've completed your chef apprenticeship (or equivalent) and bring genuine passion for cooking, learning and delivering quality at pace. You communicate well, work collaboratively and take pride in your craft. Flexibility across a 7-day roster is essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-standard kitchen.
