Job summary

Miandma Pty Ltd is seeking a self-motivated, English-speaking chef to join our Cantonese restaurant in Noosaville, Noosa Shire.

You will prepare and cook dishes, follow recipes, manage kitchen operations, train staff, and help with menu development in a fast-paced setting.

The position is permanent, full-time, with a salary in the AU$80,000–85,000 range.

Qualifications

• Must have strong cooking skills across multiple cuisines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required.

• Ensure hygiene and safety compliance in the kitchen.
• Store food at appropriate temperatures and manage stock.
• Record food temperatures for quality control.

• Assist with menu planning and development.
• Manage stock including ordering and rotation.

Job Duties

• Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Oversee and manage kitchen operations
• Clean and organise kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations
• Preserve and store foodstuffs in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities
• Recording food temperature
• Train apprentices and other kitchen staff
• Assist with menu planning and development
• Stock management including ordering, rotation and wastage control

Skills and experience Required

• Cert IV in Commercial Cookery Diploma of Hospitality Management
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience as a Chef
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multifaceted kitchen operations
• Attention to detail
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
• A versatile and hard-working person with a practical hands-on approach, who strives to achieve the best outcomes at all times.
