Job summary

The Wests Group Australia in Nelson Bay is seeking a Fulltime Chef or experienced Cook to join their catering team. You will be responsible for the preparation, cooking and presentation of all food items across the site, with availability for breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

Candidates should have fast‑paced kitchen experience, strong cooking skills, and trade qualifications. Night and weekend shifts are required, with a supportive team and varied perks.

About the position

In terms of food, Wests Nelson Bay offer outstanding quality of food that has become a favourite for local members and seasonal guests. Traditional Club food offerings and modern options including local seafood options gives variety to this opportunity for a Fulltime Chef or experienced Cook to join the team. Responsible for the preparation, cooking and presentation of all food items across the catering operations.

What you will be doing:

• Ensure prep sheets are completed
• Preparation of high quality food during service
• Assist other sections when required
• Cleaning of work areas
• Assist with the set-up and close down of service
• Ensure food is stored to hygiene standards
• Ensure appropriate disposal of waste

This position will require availability for split shifts for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Availability for work on Friday nights, weekends and good availability through the week is a must. Our seasonal peaks run through summer, public holiday and school holiday periods, availability during seasonal peaks is essential.

We are seeking an energetic team player with a passion for food and good service. You pride yourself on presentation & consistency. Experience in fast paced kitchen, strong cooking skills with trade qualifications, will be highly desirable. You will be available to work nights, weekends and be flexible to assist with all catering operations across the site.
