Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a Chef at Bethania Haven Aged Care Facility to prepare, cook and serve meals with a focus on dietary needs and food safety. You’ll support menu design, maintain quality standards, and follow SOPs while contributing to resident wellbeing.

The role requires a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Australia) or equivalent and at least 3 years of chef experience. WHS knowledge and excellent communication are essential, with opportunities for Not-for-Profit salary

• Hold a relevant trade qualification such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Australia) or above.
• Understanding of Australian food & beverage standards and WHS.

• Prepare, cook and serve food in adherence with dietary requirements with a strong focus on food safety standards.
• Support senior hospitality staff members with menu design and implementation,

Role Requirements

As a Chef, you’ll take pride in your presentation, be knowledgeable in relation to nutrition and have a keen interest on the impact of dietary requirements on our aged residents.

You Will Have Proven Experience In Safe Food Preparation, Storage And Delivery, a Clear Understanding Of WHS, Be Confident In Medium-high Volume Meal Preparation And Demonstrate The Following

• Hold a relevant trade qualification, eg. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Australia) or above
• Have 3 years minimum experience as a qualified Chef
• Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
• Understanding of Australian food and beverage standards
• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
