Job summary

Opal HealthCare Dubbo Homestead is seeking a dedicated Chef to support the Head Chef and deliver nutritious meals for residents. You will help manage daily kitchen operations and ensure high standards of food safety.

You’ll work in a daytime kitchen with a flexible roster, access training through the Opal HealthCare Academy, study support, and opportunities to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence. This role offers an attractive hourly rate with penalties and superannuation, plus study

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Experience as a Chef with supervisory or leadership exposure.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to complete pre-employment medical, Police check and NDIS Screening.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and managing daily operations.
• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals meeting dietary needs.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
• Lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Contribute to a dining experience that brings joy to residents.

What You'll Need:

• Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to complete: Pre-employment medical, Police check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
