Job summary

One Fusion in Melbourne's Bundoora area is seeking a qualified chef to join a busy hospitality team. This full-time role requires 4.5–5 days per week and a minimum Certificate III and IV in commercial cookery.

You will lead the kitchen, update menus, manage stock and train staff, delivering high-quality dishes for dining and events. The restaurant features a downstairs dining area and an upstairs function space.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Certificate III and IV in commercial cookery.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends.
  • Experience in fast-paced hospitality environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with menu redesigns and updates including seasonal menus.
  • Support kitchen operations and run the kitchen as if it were your own.
  • Oversee stock deliveries and ordering for food and equipment supplies.

Located in Bundoora in busy shopping location.

We are currently on the lookout for an individual who believes that Hospitality is the career for them.

We are looking for a 'Full-time' candidate, over 4.5 to 5 days per week.

We have a restaurant downstairs with a function room upstairs.

Our Menu is quite extensive, yet simple and classic.

  • Assisting with Re - Designing and updating of menus including seasonal menus. Updating our regular menu every 6 months;
  • Assist in running the kitchen as it is your own;
  • Overseeing delivery of stock of food and equipment supplies and doing purchases for orders;
  • Ensuring freshness and quality in the ingredients and preparation of meals;
  • Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff;
  • Prepare and cook foods for dining and function service;
  • Implementing and enforcing hygiene regulations and examining equipment for cleanliness;
  • Food stocktaking procedures and waste management;
  • Day to day temperature checks;
  • Provide and record a program of basic training for all new members of staff and communicate performance and development issues on a regular basis;
  • Manage and train the team within the kitchen during service and outside of service.
