Job summary

Juniper Aged Care in Morley is seeking a qualified Chef for Juniper Carramar in a part-time role, reporting to the Residential Manager and working with the Hospitality Services Manager to provide nutritious meals per menus.

The position is permanent-part time, with Saturdays and Sundays 09:30–17:30. Duties include cooking to menus, HACCP compliance, stock control, and staff supervision.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead kitchen staff and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of dietary requirements for older people (IDDSI) and food safety standards.
• Ability to manage food budgets and control costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in line with cyclic menus and DINE standards.
• Maintain HACCP compliance, safe handling, and infection control.
• Keep kitchen clean, safe and hygienic; monitor portions and waste.
• Order and control stock within food cost guidelines.

The Role

We are currently seeking a qualified Chef to join our team at Juniper Carramar in Morely in a part-time capacity. Reporting to the Residential Manager and working in partnership with the Hospitality Services Manager, the Chef is responsible for providing appropriate, nutritious and enjoyable meals for our customers in accordance with Juniper's cyclic menus, DINE standards and Food Safety Program.

Juniper Carramar in Morely is currently seeking an experienced Chef to join the team on a permanent-part time basis, working Saturdays and Sundays 0930-1730.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with Juniper's cyclic and seasonal menus
• Ensure adherence to safe food handling, HACCP and infection control standards
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment
• Monitor portion control, minimise food wastage and manage stock effectively
• Order and control stock within food cost guidelines
• Supervise and direct kitchen staff in line with DINE standards
• Participate in customer meetings and incorporate feedback into menu planning
• Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant legislation

Key Requirements

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Experience in a commercial cooking and/or aged care catering environment
• Experience managing bulk ordering and stock control
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and infection control standards
• Understanding of dietary requirements for older people (including IDDSI standards)
• Ability to manage food budgets and cost controls
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Demonstrated leadership and team direction capability
