Job summary

BlueCare | Chef role at Gympie Aged Care Facility is a permanent full-time position offering $31.44 per hour plus Super, Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging, and penalties & Allowances.

This role focuses on preparing, cooking and serving meals to residents with dietary requirements, while supporting menu design and ensuring food safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in safe food preparation, storage and delivery.
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for aged residents.
• Proven ability to follow SOPs and WHS policies.

About the role:

This is a great opportunity for a Chef or highly experienced Cook aiming to restore their work life balance and gain employment in one of Australia’s fastest growing industries with the following tasks:

• Prepare, cook and serve food in adherence with dietary requirements with a strong focus on food safety standards.
• Support senior hospitality staff members with menu design and implementation, Promote quality standards and maintain service with standard operating procedures.

Role requirements:

• As a Chef, you’ll take pride in your presentation, be knowledgeable in relation to nutrition and have a keen interest on the impact of dietary requirements on our aged residents.
• You will have proven experience in safe food preparation, storage and delivery, a clear understanding of WHS, be confident in medium-high volume meal preparation and demonstrate the following:
• Hold a relevant trade qualification Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Australia) or above
• Have 3 years minimum experience as a qualified Chef
• Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
• Understanding of Australian food and beverage standards
• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
