Job summary

Redpath Australia is seeking experienced Underground Charge Up Operators to join our Lake Cowal operation in New South Wales. This is a long-term project delivering safe and efficient underground development charging.

As a Charge Up Operator, you will load and charge development headings, manage explosive handling, and work closely with Jumbo Operators and shift supervisors to meet blast designs and site procedures. A strong safety mindset and ability to pass medicals are essential.

Qualifications

Redpath Australia is seeking experienced Underground Charge Up Operators to join our operations at Evolution Mining's Lake Cowal Underground Gold Mine in New South Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a long-term project with a respected mining contractor while contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of underground mine development activities.

About the Role

As a Charge Up Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient charging of underground development headings in preparation for blasting activities. You will work closely with Jumbo Operators, Shift Supervisors and underground crews to ensure drill and blast activities are completed safely, accurately and in accordance with site procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Charge underground development headings in accordance with blast designs and site procedures
• Safely handle and load explosives and initiating systems
• Prepare and tie in blast rounds for firing
• Conduct pre-start inspections and equipment checks
• Ensure compliance with all explosives handling, storage and transport requirements
• Work closely with Jumbo Operators and supervisors to maintain development schedules
• Identify and report hazards, incidents and equipment defects
• Complete charging documentation and blast records as required
• Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards underground

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous underground mining experience in a Charge Up role
• Demonstrated experience charging underground development headings
• Current explosives handling accreditation and relevant mining tickets
• Strong understanding of drill and blast practices and safety procedures
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence
• Ability to work effectively within a high-performing team environment
• Ability to pass site medical and employment requirements
