Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking an experienced Chapter Lead to guide a specialist data science team across Gen AI, agentic AI and ML initiatives. You will shape technical direction, foster best practices and grow a high-performing team in a regulated environment.

You will partner with product, engineering and risk to deploy production-grade AI solutions, ensuring safety, scalability and responsible AI while delivering customer outcomes at scale.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading ML/Gen AI teams and strategy.
• Hands-on production-grade AI with LLMs, NLP and safety considerations.
• Strong foundations in statistics and machine learning.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and deployment of ML, Gen AI and agentic AI solutions.
• Partner with product, engineering, platform, MLOps and risk to scale responsible AI.
• Establish technical excellence and coach data scientists across the chapter.
• Move ideas from experimentation to production with governance and safety.
