Job summary

Fraser Coast Anglican College, located in Hervey Bay, QLD, invites applications for a Chaplain to provide spiritual and pastoral leadership across the College. The Chaplain will foster faith, wellbeing and belonging among students, staff and families through worship, pastoral care and community engagement within the Anglican tradition.

The role involves coordinating worship experiences, supporting staff in faith integration, and contributing to RAVE initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ordained Anglican Priest licensed by the Archbishop of Brisbane or eligible for ministry licence.
• Experience in leading Anglican worship and liturgy, including sacramental services.
• Recognised theological qualification.
• Hold and maintain a current Working with Children Blue Card.
• Chaplaincy experience in an Independent school context or with youth groups and families.
• Demonstrated capability in clear, warm communication with students, staff, families and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the College’s pastoral care program.
• Provide pastoral ministry and spiritual support to students, staff and families.
• Create and coordinate worship experiences and Chapel services.
• Participate in College assemblies and special events.
• Support staff in integrating aspects of Christian faith into day-to-day teaching.
• Contribute to the development of Religious and Values Education (RAVE) across the College.

About the role

Fraser Coast Anglican College is seeking a passionate and community-focused Chaplain to provide spiritual and pastoral leadership across the College. Grounded in the Anglican tradition, the Chaplain will nurture the faith, wellbeing and sense of belonging of students, staff and families through pastoral care, worship, faith formation and community engagement. Working closely with the College leadership team, this role plays a key part in fostering a vibrant Christian culture and bringing the College’s mission and values to life each day.

Duties

• Participate in the College’s pastoral care program.
• Provide pastoral ministry and spiritual support to students, staff and families
• Create and coordinate worship experiences and Chapel services for students and staff.
• Participate in College assemblies and special events.
• Provide professional support and guidance for staff in the integration of aspects of the Christian faith into their day to day teaching and classroom activities.
• Contribute to the development of Religious and Values Education (RAVE) throughout the College.

Skills and experience required

• Ordained Anglican Priest licensed by the Archbishop of Brisbane or be eligible to be granted a ministry licence by the Archbishop of Brisbane.
• Experience in leading Anglican worship and liturgy, including sacramental services, in engaging and meaningful ways.
• Recognised theological qualification.
• Hold and maintain a current Working with Children Blue Card.
• Chaplaincy experience in an Independent school context or other environments involving extensive work with young people (highly desirable) and their families.
• Demonstrated capability in communicating clearly, with warmth and confidence, with students, staff, families and external stakeholders, especially regarding spiritual matters.
