DealHub Ltd in Australia is seeking a strategic CFO for a PE-backed energy portfolio, to own the finance function end-to-end and work directly with the CEO and sponsor on M&A, capital raising and value creation. You will build the financial infrastructure, lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, controls, tax and treasury, and guide transactions from screening through to financial close.
The role requires 20+ years of finance leadership in energy or infrastructure, CA/CPA, with MBA or CFA a
Our client is a PE-backed energy business with a utility-scale development, construction and operating portfolio moving through an active growth phase. This is a rare CFO mandate offers a seat at the centre of the business's investment and transaction agenda, offering a role that goes beyond a back-office finance function bolted onto a growing balance sheet.
As one of a small number of senior executives shaping the business's next phase, this strategic CFO will own the finance function end-to-end while sitting directly alongside the CEO and engaging directly with the sponsor, working across M&A activity, capital raising and broader investment decisions. You'll build the financial infrastructure of a business and directly influence which deals get done, how they're financed and how capital is deployed across a growing portfolio.
The successful candidate will have 20+ years of finance leadership in energy, infrastructure or renewables, either as a current CFO or as a Deputy CFO / Head of Finance ready to step into a broader, more commercially exposed mandate. Experience operating in a PE-backed environment is preferred but not a prerequisite but must be comfortable with sponsor reporting and value creation planning within an Energy or complex Infrastructure related business. The successful candidate will pair a strong technical accounting and control foundation with real transaction experience, including due diligence, deal structuring through to financial close, not just reviewing the outputs. CA/CPA or equivalent is expected; MBA or CFA is a plus. Most importantly, our client is looking for someone who wants a seat at the table on the deals themselves.
This is a genuine seat at the table on the transactions and capital decisions shaping the business's growth, the kind of broad, commercially exposed CFO mandate that PE-backed businesses are well placed to offer, in a sector still building out its senior leadership.
