Job summary

Regency Newcastle is seeking a Medical Technician within a retirement and assisted living community to provide individualized resident care, administer medications, and monitor well-being. The role emphasizes compassion, safety, and teamwork in a nurturing environment.

Training includes HCA certification and CPR/BLS readiness, with on-site duties and patient-focused responsibilities. The position offers competitive wages starting at $21 per hour, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for full-time staff,

Qualifications

• Possess an HCA certification in the state of employment.
• Can obtain CPR/BLS card.
• Read, write, speak and understand English.
• Follow prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
• Have compassion and interest in working with the senior population.
• Communicate and interact tactfully with others.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper dosage and distribution of medications per physician directions.
• Take vital signs, monitor weights, apply creams, collect specimens, and assist mobility.
• Attend to residents' needs including grooming, hygiene, feeding, and toileting.
• Follow individualized care plans and report changes to care staff.
• Document care in accordance with department policies.

As a CMA, you provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. You also administer, instruct, and monitor resident medications and report to the wellness director.

You Will:

• Ensure proper dosage/distribution and instruct residents on application/consumption of medication per the direction of their physician
• Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
• Attend to the resident's needs, including; grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements
• Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
• Document care in keeping with department policies

You Currently:
