Job summary

Otraco in Gudai-Darri (WA) is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Tyre Technician to support operations on site. You will supervise 1-2 tyre technicians, coordinate tyre fitting and workshop tasks, and ensure safety standards and company Golden Rules are followed.

The role requires hands-on tyre fitting on earthmover fleets, a valid HR licence, and a forklift licence. The roster is 8:6–7:7 with 12.5-hour shifts, offering ongoing training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Earthmover tyre fitting on mine sites.
• Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical Tyre Fitting Heavy (AUR21916/ AUR21920).
• Valid HR driving licence and current WorkSafe forklift licence.
• Statutory 26 advantageous.
• Ability to work autonomously with initiative and safety focus.
• High attention to site safety procedures and rules.

Responsibilities

• Prioritising and directing personnel to perform tyre fitting and workshop maintenance tasks in the most efficient, safe and cost-effective manner.
• Maintaining a safe and efficient workforce by providing constructive and positive feedback as well as provide initiatives for increased safety and performance.
• Demonstrating a high level of supervision to ensure all safety systems are present.
• Leading by example to ensure all personnel comply with site and company policies, procedures, instructions and Golden Rules.
• Actively promoting a safety culture across site operations that targets zero harm to personnel and the environment.

Job description

In Australia alone, we have a presence on over 45 mining operations, and, due to continued growth and internal movement, we currently require an experienced OTR Leading Hand Tyre Technicians for our Gudai-Darri operations near Newman WA:

THE POSITION

The Leading Hand will provide a high level of continuous service on site by supporting the operations of the workshop, office, stock and personnel, and will also ensure the contracted scope of work is performed and maintained to a high standard.

Role details:

• Based at Gudai-Darri
• 8:6 – 7:7 roster
• 12.5 hr days/nights
• Leading 1-2 Tyre Technician
• Large single tyre bay with great facilities
• CAT Primary Fleet

Duties include:

About you:

• Preferably a minimum of 2 years of Earthmover tyre fitting experience on mine sites
• A Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical Tyre Fitting Heavy; AUR21916/ AUR21920
• A valid HR Driving licence
• A current WorkSafe forklift licence
• Statutory 26 Advantageous
• Possess a high level of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
• An understanding that safety is paramount, with a high attention to detail to abide by site safety procedures
• Possess a high level of maturity, initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to work autonomously
