Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in business, management, community services or related discipline.

  • Strong financial management skills: budgeting, funding obligations, risk management.
  • Experience in funded service operations and case management context.

Job description

Part-time | 24 hours per week (Monday–Thursday) | 12 month fixed-term contract (with possible extension of hours and contract)

Do you have the skills and experience to lead operations and case management service delivery, support a dedicated team, and strengthen systems within a small, specialist, trauma informed organisation?

Moving Forward is seeking an experienced CEO to provide operational leadership which support high quality services for women and children impacted by DFV in our community.

Due to the nature of this service, to identify as a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under s.31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).

About the role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the effective day-to-day operation, management and leadership of Moving Forward. The CEO will oversee organisational operations, accreditation, compliance, staffing, funding requirements, risk and financial management, and the delivery of case management services, while working closely with the Board and the Head of Clinical Services & Community Development to implement the organisation's strategic direction and ensure operational, clinical, and service development priorities are aligned.

This is a hands on leadership role within a small specialist DFV organisation.

The successful applicant will be expected to quickly understand the organisation, its systems and requirements, take ownership of tasks, work directly within the operations of the organisation and respond practically and proactively to emerging needs.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of Moving Forward and implement Board decisions.

Maintain organisational systems, policies, compliance and risk management.

Lead and coordinate the organisation's accreditation process and quality improvement.

Oversee recruitment, induction, supervision, performance and day-to-day workforce requirements.

Support a sustainable and appropriately skilled workforce, with a supportive trauma informed culture.

Oversee the operational delivery of case management services and monitor service targets.

Undertake case management duties when required to maintain service continuity.

Monitor budgets, expenditure and financial performance.

Ensure funding obligations, targets and reporting requirements are met.

Provide regular reports to the Board on organisational performance, finances, staffing, accreditation, risks and service delivery.

About you

Relevant tertiary qualification in business, management, community services, social services or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience in a management or leadership role.

Demonstrated experience managing the day-to-day operations of a small NFP organisation or service, including staff, competing priorities, organisational systems and operational decision making.

Demonstrated experience in compliance, quality assurance, NFP accreditation and similar organisational requirements, with the ability to lead the organisation through an accreditation process.

Demonstrated understanding of financial management, budgeting, funding obligations, risk management and organisational governance.

Experience working within the NFP and community services sector, particularly within an organisation providing case management services, with an understanding of the operational requirements of a funded service.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, make sound decisions, identify and address issues, and take a practical, hands-on approach to getting work completed.

Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with the Board, staff, funding bodies and other stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to quickly understand existing systems and processes, build effective working relationships and provide leadership within a small organisation.

We provide comprehensive practical support through trauma informed, strengths based, and client centred counselling, case management services, therapeutic and educational workshops, and support groups within the communities we serve. We are a small team of passionate woman committed to helping and supporting other women and children in our community to better understand the cycles of DFV and unsafe relationships, and to reclaim their lives through empowerment and education.
