City of Canada Bay Council invites applications for a Community Recycling Centre Operator to support daily facility operations, assist customers with safe disposal, and help manage recyclable materials.

You will work with the Waste Team to ensure safe, efficient operations, contribute to data records, and support continuous improvement within the Council's recycling program. The role requires relevant certificates and a collaborative, safety-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Essential: White Card (General Construction Induction), ChemCert Accreditation, and Traffic Controller Qualification.
• Demonstrated competency in safe handling, storage and management of hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods.
• Solid knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements and safe work practices.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Support operation of the Community Recycling Centre and liaise with customers, suppliers and contractors.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
• Undertake general maintenance of the facility and equipment.
• Load trucks and maintain records of deliveries, collections and other activities.
• Collect problem waste from stations at Council facilities at least twice weekly and transport to the Centre with accurate data.
• Perform daily facility storage and safety checks.
• Provide technical and operational support to related activities as needed.
• Foster a positive team culture through collaboration and communication.
• Support workplace reform and continuous improvement initiatives.
