Job summary

Discovery at Play Early Learning Centres Beeliar is seeking an experienced Centre Director to lead a 68-place service featuring three rooms and a lakeside setting. You will oversee daily operations and provide strong leadership to your team to deliver high-quality education and care.

The role focuses on building a positive centre culture, managing enrolment, budgets and compliance with NQS and National Regulations, while supporting staff development and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Centre Director, Assistant Director or similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, NQS, National Law and National Regulations.
• A current Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, or willingness to obtain/update as required.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience with staff recruitment, mentoring and performance management.
• Sound understanding of centre budgets, occupancy, staffing and operational performance.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the centre.
• Recruit, mentor, support and develop a high-performing team.
• Maintain compliance with the National Quality Standard (NQS), National Law and National Regulations.
• Drive the centre's Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a strong culture of child safety, wellbeing and professional accountability.
• Build positive and lasting relationships with children, families and the local community.
• Support high-quality educational programs and practices.
• Manage staffing, rostering, budgets and centre resources effectively.
• Monitor centre occupancy and support enrolment and marketing initiatives.
• Conduct staff performance reviews and identify professional development opportunities
