Job summary

Goodstart Ballajura is seeking a Centre Cook to prepare delicious, healthy meals for a 55-place centre in Ballajura, WA. This permanent/part-time role is 25 hours per week, 8am–1pm, with pay up to $35.44 per hour plus superannuation. You’ll ensure meals meet dietary needs and contribute to children’s nutrition in a supportive community.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within a childcare setting.
• Current WA Working with Children Check.
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training, Geccko platform.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals accounting for special dietary requirements and allergies.
• Plan menus and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director.
• Maintain high standards of food safety in storage, handling and preparation.
• Work a part-time roster of 25 hours per week, 8am–1pm.

In This Role, You Will

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
• Work a part-time roster of 25 hours per week, 8am – 1pm
