Job summary

Northern Rivers Community Legal Centre in Lismore (Bundjalung Country) seeks a Community Development and Community Legal Education Program Lead to coordinate education initiatives and support vulnerable communities. You will supervise the Community Development/CLE Officer and the Aboriginal Legal Access Program Officer while building partnerships with local services.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the community legal sector, legal assistance services and justice system.
• Experience developing plain language legal information, community legal education resources and training materials.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and/or CALD communities.
• Understanding of disaster recovery, housing stress, tenancy issues or other priority legal and social issues affecting the Northern Rivers region.
• Experience supporting volunteers, student placements or community-based programs.
• Skills in advocacy, campaign coordination, law reform or community-led consultation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to negotiate difficult interactions and conflict.

• Coordinate the community development/community legal education program and supervise related officers.
