Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education Office is seeking an outstanding educational leader to join our leadership team as Assistant Principal at St Francis Xavier's Primary School, Goodna. Start date January 2027, with a substantive 5-year appointment and potential extension subject to review.

Salary range $149,763.00 – $157,120.00 plus Super, and a continuing teaching status. The role demands strategic leadership of teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment and wellbeing within BCE frameworks.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership roles in Catholic schools.
• Experience in teaching and leading religious education.
• Catholic faith required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Model and embed a contemporary Catholic worldview in curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices.
• Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of a compliant whole-school curriculum aligned with BCE frameworks.
• Lead high-impact pedagogical practices to improve student outcomes across year levels.
• Oversee assessment frameworks aligned with QCAA and BCE expectations.
• Collaborate with inclusive education leaders to ensure curriculum access for all learners.
• Work with Campus Leadership Team to align teaching and learning priorities with BCE strategy.
• Ensure all curriculum, assessment and reporting comply with BCE policies and legislative requirements.
• Communicate clearly with parents about student learning progress and curriculum matters.
• Contribute to whole-school strategic planning and improvement agendas.
