Job summary

The Cath Lab Nurse at Royal Hobart Hospital, part of the Department of Health Tasmania, provides end-to-end nursing care for cardiac procedures. You will work in a fast-paced setting, performing scrub, scout/circulating duties and procedural sedation under cardiology teams.

The position requires RN registration with NMBA, experience in cardiology or high-acuity care, and a commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement. Remote duties are not indicated.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) registration.
• Experience in cardiology or high-acuity clinical settings is preferred.
• Ability to perform scrub, circulating, and sedation support in Cath Lab procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-procedural phases of cardiac investigations and interventions.
• Perform Cath Lab roles including scrub and nurse-led procedural sedation.
• Support diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures and electrophysiology studies.
• Monitor haemodynamic status and respond to clinical changes promptly.
• Maintain infection prevention, sterile technique, and radiation safety standards.
• Contribute to efficient workflow and case management in the Cath Lab.
• Communicate with patients and multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
