Job summary

Department of Health Tasmania is recruiting a Registered Nurse to join the Royal Hobart Hospital Cath Lab as part of a major expansion of the cardiac service. You will provide specialised nursing care across all stages of cardiac procedures, including scrub, surveillance, and sedation support in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves emergency cardiac response pathways, on-call duties, and ongoing professional development within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated cardiology or high-acuity clinical experience.
• Progressive clinical knowledge with critical thinking.
• Post-graduate experience in acute care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care across pre-, intra-, and post-procedural phases.
• Assist in scrub, circulating, and nurse-led procedural sedation.
• Support a broad range of cath lab procedures including angiography and device implantation.
• Monitor haemodynamics and respond to deterioration or complications.
• Maintain infection control, sterile technique, and radiation safety.
• Contribute to workflow efficiency and cath lab resource use.
• Communicate with patients and multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care.
