Job summary

Clayton Utz in-house Catering team in Perth is seeking a talented Chef de Partie to support daily kitchen operations, menu planning, and delivering exceptional dining experiences for employees and clients. This full-time, permanent role is based in Perth with hours from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, and occasional evenings or weekends.

You will work hands-on across cooking, food preparation, and maintaining a safe, efficient kitchen while collaborating with the broader catering team to

Qualifications

• Relevant hospitality/culinary qualification.
• 3 years’ full-time experience in fine dining, corporate, or catering.
• Passion for high-quality, well-presented food.
• Strong knowledge of day-to-day kitchen operations including invoicing and strict food safety/allergen protocols.
• Strong work ethic and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation for client functions and staff events, including on-site cafe.
• Assist in menu planning for meals and catered events.
• Mentor and train kitchen staff, ensuring smooth production.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to high standards and consistently.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and compliance with WA health and safety regulations.
• Monitor and manage kitchen equipment, inventory and stock levels.
• Assist with online ordering, invoicing and pricing.
• Step in for the Sous Chef when required to ensure seamless operations.
