Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited is seeking casual catering staff for Villa Maria Unanderra in NSW. You will prepare meals and provide a warm dining experience to residents, supporting them with meal service and following care plans.

Ideal candidates have aged care experience, good nutrition knowledge, strong communication and a caring attitude. Certificate III in Hospitality is desirable but not essential, with emphasis on safety and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Aged Care experience and knowledge of nutrition from care plans.
• Heart and passion for high quality elder care.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Certificate III in Hospitality – desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of food safety, kitchen hygiene.
• Warm interpersonal skills with residents and families.
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willingness to obtain.

• Location - Villa Maria Unanderra
• Casual shift - Shift times = 7am-12pm & 2.30pm-7.30pm
• Pay rate - $ 33.20 + casual loading + super
• Not for profit employer so pay less tax!

As a member of the Catering team at Villa Maria Unanderra, you will be preparing high quality food and providing a great dining service to our residents to ensure a high quality of life.

About the Role:

• Providing resident meal service including assisting with meal preparation, providing a quality dining service and assisting residents as required

• Supporting your peers and maintaining a cooperative team spirit
• Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you'll need

• Aged Care experience, knowledge of nutrition and meal preparation from a Care Plan
• A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) – desirable but not essential
• Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
• Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
• Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
