Job summary

Catholic Healthcare in Sydney (Surry Hills) is seeking a casual Catering team member to provide resident meal service and assist with meal preparation, ensuring a high standard of dining experience for residents.

You'll join a supportive team, follow safety and hygiene practices, and interact warmly with residents and families. Certificate III in Hospitality is desirable but not essential; NDIS and police checks may be required.

• NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain.

As a member of the Catering team at Gertrude Abbott Aged Care, you will be preparing high quality food and providing a great dining service to our residents to ensure a high quality of life.

About the Role:

• Providing resident meal service including assisting with meal preparation, providing a quality dining service and assisting residents as required
• Supporting your peers and maintaining a cooperative team spirit
• Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you’ll need

• A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) - desirable but not essential
• Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
• Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
• Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
