Job summary

Catholic Healthcare is seeking a dedicated catering team member at St James Matraville to provide high-quality dining services for residents. You will assist with meal preparation, serve meals, and contribute to a positive, safe dining experience within a not-for-profit organization.

Hospitable, reliable individuals with a passion for elder care are encouraged to apply. Certificate III in Hospitality is desirable but not required; NDIs and police checks will be obtained as needed.

Qualifications

• Heart for delivering high quality care to elderly residents.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with residents and families.
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willingness to obtain.

As a member of the Catering team at St James Matraville, you will be preparing high quality food and providing a great dining service to our residents to ensure a high quality of life.

About The Role

• Providing resident meal service including assisting with meal preparation, providing a quality dining service and assisting residents as required
• Supporting your peers and maintaining a cooperative team spirit
• Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents, closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you’ll need

• A heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) – desirable but not essential
• Good understanding of food safety practices, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
• Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with experience interacting with a wide range of people
• Able to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willing to obtain
