Job summary

Southern Cross Care Queensland is recruiting a part-time Catering Assistant for Caloundra Rise Retirement Village on the Sunshine Coast. You will work in a fully functional commercial kitchen and dining room, supporting a chef, serving residents, delivering meals and clearing tables.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety (HACCP) is desirable.
• Barista skills or willingness to learn are an asset.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication with guests and colleagues.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Compassion, sensitivity and maturity in delivering meals.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and seat them appropriately.
• Take accurate food and drink orders and note special requests.
• Provide efficient food and beverage service.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
• Deliver food and drinks promptly and accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area; set tables and pre-buss.
• Process payments accurately and provide correct change.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
• Participate in training to improve service skills and product knowledge.
• Maintain a positive, welcoming dining experience for residents.
