Job summary

Blacktown City Council is hiring a Catering Assistant to support daily programs and events across our facilities. You will prepare and serve food and beverages, set up catering areas, process sales, answer enquiries, and help keep areas clean while ensuring safety and hygiene standards.

You will work in a busy, high-volume environment with flexible casual shifts, receive ongoing training, and gain experience across a range of duties and venues within one of Australia’s largest councils.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or food service is beneficial.
• Ability to handle cash transactions and operate POS systems.
• Strong customer service skills and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverages.
• Set up kiosks and catering areas for events.
• Process customer sales at the point of sale.
• Answer enquiries and assist customers.
• Help keep refreshment areas clean, safe and welcoming.
