Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Catering Assistant to support daily programs and events across our facilities. You will prepare and serve food and beverages, set up kiosks, process sales and assist with enquiries while maintaining a welcoming and safe environment.

This casual, on-site role offers ongoing training, shifts across the day, and a pathway to build customer service and food handling skills within a large municipal team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a casual/part-time role
• Strong customer service and food safety awareness
• Willingness to work across a variety of shifts
• Ability to work in a high-volume catering environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverages, set up kiosks and catering areas, process customer sales, answer enquiries and help keep refreshment areas clean, safe and welcoming.
• In peak periods, prepare food, restock products, rotate stock, check deliveries, complete catering administration and operate POS and cash handling systems.
• Clean tables, empty bins, maintain food safety and hygiene standards, and ensure kitchen and servery equipment is set up, used and stored correctly.
