Job summary

The JBS Townsville Kitchen team are recruiting several new full-time Catering Assistants to support our busy staff cafeteria team. Reporting to the Catering Manager, our Catering Assistants deliver exceptional hospitality and customer service to our 400+ strong workforce.

Which provides opportunities to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a supportive team. The role is Monday to Friday, with no weekend work and starts at AUD 29.45 per hour plus superannuation and overtime where

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen is advantageous.
• Excellent customer service and a can-do attitude.
• Ability to take direction from others.
• Autonomous and team-based work capability.
• Available for late nights and early mornings; no weekend work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of meals.
• Receival and storage of stock.
• Cleaning the food preparation areas, cooking equipment and utensils.
• Ensuring the dining room is clean, tidy and presentable at all times.
• Assisting with preparation for special events including morning teas, fundraising events, guest visitors and executive meetings.

The JBS Townsville Kitchen team are currently recruiting several new full-time Catering Assistants to support our busy staff cafeteria team. Reporting to the Catering Manager, our Catering Assistants deliver exceptional hospitality and customer service to our 400+ strong workforce.

• Full-time; Monday to Friday only; no weekend work!
• Starting at $29.45 per hour + Super + Overtime (where possible)

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of meals
• Receival and storage of stock
• Cleaning the food preparation areas, cooking equipment and utensils
• Ensuring the dining room is clean, tidy and presentable at all times
• Assisting with preparation for special events including morning teas, fundraising events, guest visitors and senior/executive meetings

About You

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment advantageous
• Excellent customer service skills and a desire to always go above and beyond
• Ability and willingness to take direction from others
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
• Ability to work across a variety of shifts including late nights and early mornings. No weekend work!
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Great time management skills and the ability to work effectively well under pressure
