Job summary

JBS Townsville Plant is seeking full-time Catering Assistants for our busy staff cafeteria. Reporting to the Catering Manager, you will help prepare, deliver and serve meals to a 400+ workforce in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The role requires excellent customer service, teamwork and the ability to work varied shifts including early mornings and late nights. Weekend work is not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment is advantageous.
• Excellent customer service and willingness to go above and beyond.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Willingness to work early mornings and late nights; no weekend work.

• Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of meals

About the Role

The JBS Townsville Kitchen team are currently recruiting several new full-time Catering Assistants to support our busy staff cafeteria team. Reporting to the Catering Manager, our Catering Assistants deliver exceptional hospitality and customer service to our 400+ strong workforce.

• Full-time; Monday to Friday only; no weekend work!
• Starting at $29.45 per hour + Super + Overtime (where possible)

Y our key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of meals
• Receival and storage of stock
• Cleaning the food preparation areas, cooking equipment and utensils
• Ensuring the dining room is clean, tidy and presentable at all times
• Assisting with preparation for special events including morning teas, fundraising events, guest visitors and senior/executive meetings

About You

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment advantageous
• Excellent customer service skills and a desire to always go above and beyond
• Ability and willingness to take direction from others
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
• Ability to work across a variety of shifts including late nights and early mornings. No weekend work!
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Great time management skills and the ability to work effectively well under pressure
