Job summary

Fresh Hope Communities is seeking a casual Catering Assistant/Kitchen Hand at our Rhodes office in Sydney. You will enhance residents’ dining experiences, ensuring personalised, customer-focused service while following food safety standards.

Report to the Manager of Residential Services and collaborate with the care, health and hospitality teams. You will prepare meals, assist with meal distribution, interact with residents with kindness, integrity, and optimism, and maintain high standards of

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent experience.
• HACCP course completed or willingness to complete.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Current National Criminal History Check suitable for aged care (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Provide a varied and nutritional food service that meets the needs of aged residents.
• Provide excellent personalised service to residents.
• Prepare meals and drinks.
• Distribute meals to residents and assist the chef with meal prep and kitchen duties.
• Deliver dining room services and uphold food safety standards.

Certificate III in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience

Completion of a HACCP course (or willing to complete)

Your Contribution

As a catering assistant/kitchen hand you will be responsible for enhancing residents’ dining experience by ensuring and maintaining a personalised and customer-focused approach while maintaining food safety practices in line with regulations. You will be reporting to the Manager of Residential Services and working with the care, health and hospitality team.

• Provide a varied and nutritional food service, which meets the needs of the aged residents within the residential aged care setting.
• Provide excellent personalised service to our residents.
• Prepare meals and drinks.
• Distribute meals to residents, assisting the chef with meal preparation, cleaning and general kitchen duties.
• Dining room services.

The Essentials
