Job summary

Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network in Murray and Mallee region is seeking a Catering Assistant to support the health unit. You will perform catering, cleaning, food preparation, service and delivery while rotating through kitchen, laundry and housekeeping.

The role is part-time, ongoing permanent, and offers pro-rata pay between $1,261.93 and $1,284.87 per week. Applicants should have teamwork, good communication, reliability and basic food safety.

About the Role:

Join our team as a Catering Assistant and play a valued role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our clients. You’ll provide friendly, efficient catering and cleaning services, including food preparation, service and delivery, while gaining variety through working across the kitchen, laundry and housekeeping areas of our health unit.

Essential Criteria

• Teamwork & Flexibility: Works well within a team and adapts to varied settings and rosters.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal, communication and numeracy skills, with the ability to work respectfully with diverse people.
• Work Performance: Reliable, meets deadlines, works under direction and maintains confidentiality.
• Relevant Experience: Some experience in housekeeping, catering/cooking and laundry.
• Safety & Service: Basic knowledge of food safety, infection control, workplace safety and customer service.

Desired Criteria

• Qualifications & Skills: Year 11 completion, current first aid certificate and demonstrated manual handling skills.
• Relevant Experience: Experience in housekeeping, catering/cooking, laundry and basic computer applications.
