Job summary

Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is seeking two part-time Catering Attendants for Lyell McEwin Hospital in Adelaide. These ongoing roles are 32 hours per week, rostered across seven days with alternate weekends and shift times 07:00–15:30 or 06:00–14:30.

Join a team delivering meals that support patient recovery in a busy hospital setting. Applicants should have food service experience, a current Food Safety certificate, and flexibility for early starts and weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food service, hospitality, or catering environment.
• A current Food Safety certificate or the ability to obtain one promptly.
• An understanding of safe food handling and hygiene practices in a regulated setting.
• Reliability and flexibility to meet a rotating roster including early starts and weekend shifts.
• A genuine commitment to patient-centred service — consistent with NALHN's values of care, respect, and integrity.
• Clear and considerate communication skills when working with patients who may be unwell or have complex dietary needs.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing and distributing meals and beverages to patients in accordance with dietary requirements and care plans
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic catering environment consistent with SA Health food safety standards
• Communicating warmly with patients, nursing staff, and colleagues to ensure meal service runs smoothly across the ward
• Supporting general kitchen duties including equipment cleaning, stock rotation, and waste management

Two Positions Available

• Position P54444 — Rostered across 7 days, working alternate weekends, shift hours 07:00–15:30
• Position M58373 — Rostered across 7 days, working alternate weekends, shift hours 06:00–14:30
