Job summary

Chubb in Australia seeks a senior Casualty leader to drive the unit’s financial performance across WA/SA. You will steer underwriting discipline, grow premium through new business and broker partnerships, and lead a high-performing team to deliver on growth targets and profitability.

You will collaborate with claims, distribution, and management to shape strategy, optimize portfolio results, and maintain high standards of risk assessment and governance within the Casualty unit.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a casualty insurance unit.
• Strong underwriting discipline and risk assessment.
• Ability to develop and implement business plans for growth and profitability.
• Demonstrated success in broker relationships and new business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Casualty unit’s financial performance, including profit targets, rate and loss ratio targets, and budget delivery.
• Develop and implement the unit business plan in partnership with Casualty Management.
• Analyse portfolio performance to identify profit opportunities and drive improvements.
• Drive premium growth through new business, retention, and product growth targets.
• Build and execute sales and marketing strategies across the broker market.
• Strengthen relationships with brokers, producers and insureds to expand Chubb’s presence.
• Maintain underwriting discipline and achieve audit score targets.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing Casualty team with recruitment and performance management.
• Foster an inclusive, safe workplace culture and support career growth.
• Manage expenses, commissions, and service standards to ensure efficiency.
• Oversee broker service delivery and CRM activity for strong stakeholder engagement.
