Job summary

HCA Youth & Community is seeking a Casual Residential Youth Worker to support children and young people in out-of-home care. You will help create a safe, stable and nurturing environment while building life skills, resilience and positive connections.

Rosters are planned in advance, offering flexibility and ongoing shifts, including emergency and ad hoc work. Responsibilities include building trusting relationships, trauma-informed care, assisting with daily living tasks, school attendance,

Qualifications

• Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work or related service field.
• Australian Drivers Licence (OPEN) and Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
• Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Create a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.
• Support daily living tasks including meals, personal care, hygiene and routines.
• Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Assist with school attendance, appointments and community participation.
• Administer medication and maintain accurate case notes/documentation.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams and care plans.
