Job summary

Brown Family Wine Group is seeking a casual Warehouse Operator to support efficient warehouse operations in Milawa. Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, you will handle loading, unloading, picking, packing, and stock verification with a focus on accuracy and safety.

You will operate forklifts, maintain records, and work within FIFO/FEFO guidelines while joining a passionate, family-owned wine business offering benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy warehouse environment with basic warehousing principles.
• Forklift licence with warehouse operation experience (reach forklift desirable).
• Current Heavy Rigid (HR) licence is highly desirable.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and also autonomously when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate records.
• Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good physical fitness and ability to safely perform manual handling.
• Commitment to a safe working environment.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including night shift.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods from containers, trucks, trailers and other storage areas.
• Transport materials within the production facility.
• Support stock movement and shuttle truck operations.
• Pick, pack, label and dispatch outbound cartons.
• Verify inbound/outbound goods against manifests and pick-slips.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and stock control processes.
• Ensure stock integrity and FIFO/FEFO compliance.
• Assist with stock level management to meet needs.
• Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure safe shutdowns at day end.
• Complete routine forklift and equipment inspections.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and 5S standards.

About the Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, the casual Warehouse Operator is responsible for supporting efficient warehouse operations through the safe handling, movement, storage and processing of goods.

Role responsibilities include:

• Loading and unloading goods from containers, trucks, trailers, and other storage areas
• Transporting materials throughout the production facility
• Supporting inter-warehouse stock and supply movement via dedicated shuttle truck
• Picking, packing, labelling and dispatching outbound cartons
• Verifying all inbound and outbound goods against documentation including manifests and pick-slips
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting stock control processes
• Ensuring stock integrity through appropriate handling, stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and quality standards
• Supporting stock level management to meet operational requirements
• Maintaining warehouse equipment, coordinating servicing and repairs, and ensuring equipment is safely shut down at the end of each day
• Completing routine forklift and equipment inspections
• Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and 5S standards across warehouse and waste collection areas
• Supporting other duties as required by the Warehouse & Distribution team

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

The successful candidate will have experience working in a busy warehouse environment with an understanding of basic warehousing principles and practices. You will also have:

• A forklift licence with experience operating in a warehouse environment (reach forklift experience highly desirable)
• Current Heavy Rigid (HR) licence highly desirable
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also taking initiative and working independently when required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
• Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good physical fitness and the ability to safely undertake manual handling tasks
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including night shift
• Good mechanical aptitude
