Job summary

MSS Security is seeking a Casual Security Officer to support Monash Clayton campus locations, Clayton, Caufield, Parkville & Peninsula. You will be part of a team delivering safety, security, and professional assistance to students and staff in a dynamic university environment.

The role requires a Victorian security licence, a current driver’s licence, and the ability to walk long distances. You’ll engage with campus users, document incidents, and contribute to a respectful and safe campus

Qualifications

• Full Australian working rights.
• Valid Victorian Security licence.
• Valid Victorian Drivers licence.
• Working With Children Check or willing to obtain.
• First Aid and CPR certificates or willing to obtain.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional presentation.
• Ability to walk up to 15–20km a day.

Responsibilities

• Conduct foot patrols to keep people and buildings safe.
• Escort individuals as required to various locations on site.
• Ensure property is locked and unlocked as required.
• Provide directions and assistance to students, staff and visitors.
• Write reports in response to incidents or unusual activity.

About the role

MSS Security is seeking Casual Security Officers to join our team at Monash University at Clayton, Caufield, Parkville & Peninsula. Offering exposure to different teams to grow your already strong security experience.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Conducting foot patrols, ensuring people are safe and buildings are secure.
• Escort individuals to and from various locations around the site as required.
• Ensuring property is locked and unlocked as required.
• Provide clear directions and assistance to students, staff and visitors to ensure they can navigate the campus efficiently.
• Write reports in response to incidents or unusual activity, ensuring all information is documented.
• Communicate calmly, clearly and effectively with staff, students, and visitors.

Requirements:

• Full Australian working rights.
• Valid Victorian Security licence.
• Valid Victorian Drivers licence with no restrictions.
• Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain).
• First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain).
• Strong customer service skills and a professional presentation.
• Ability to walk up to 15-20km a day.
