Flourish Australia invites applications for a casual Peer Worker or Mental Health Worker based in Young. The role supports people with lived experience of mental health challenges in their recovery and social participation.

You will hold recovery conversations, listen to interests and goals, and guide individuals with strengths-based support while ensuring they lead their own recovery journey.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or higher in a relevant field or 2+ years full-time human services experience.
• Lived Experience of mental health challenges (Peer Worker)
• Commitment to Flourish Australia values and recovery-focused practice.
• Understanding of recovery-based practice in the workplace.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and knowledge of data information management systems.

Responsibilities

• Hold recovery and social citizenship conversations with people who access Flourish Australia services.
• Listen to and create opportunities and activities aligned with people’s goals.
• Guide and support individuals in their recovery journey with strengths-based approaches.
• Provide individual support aligned to recovery goals and led by the person.
• Support access to activities promoting independence and participation.
• Foster skill development through self-directed learning and training opportunities.
