Job summary

Flourish Australia invites applications for a casual Mental Health Worker or Peer Worker based in Young, NSW. You will work Monday–Friday with a Level 3 equivalent pay of $40.49–$43.42 per hour plus super and 25% casual loading.

You will support people with lived experience of mental health challenges to achieve goals, maintain wellness, and lead their own recovery journeys, using strengths-based approaches and mutual respect.

Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate IV or above in a relevant field or a minimum of 2 years full-time experience in human services.
• Demonstrated alignment to Flourish Australia’s values.
• Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery (Peer Worker only).
• Strong commitment to recovery-based practice in the workplace.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Hold recovery and social citizenship conversations with people who access Flourish Australia services.
• Listen to and create opportunities and activities meeting the interests and goals of people.
• Guide and support each individual in their recovery, being strengths-based and led by the person.
• Ensure that individual support meets recovery goals and is person-led wherever possible.
• Support access to activities and opportunities promoting independence.
• Support skill development through self-directed learning, information, training, and education.
