Job summary

Boatshed Market in O'Connor, WA is seeking a talented Pastry Chef on a casual basis. You will create and bake pastries, desserts, and baked goods, delivering high-quality products for our market offering.

You'll develop new pastry recipes, manage ingredient inventory, maintain hygiene, and work well with a busy team to meet production deadlines. A formal pastry qualification and experience in a commercial kitchen are required.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in pastry arts or baking from an accredited institution.
• Proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar baking role within a commercial kitchen or food service setting.
• Proficiency in preparing a wide range of pastries including French pastries, cakes, tarts, bread, and desserts.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and baking a variety of pastries, cakes, tarts, and desserts according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Developing new pastry recipes and seasonal specials to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
• Managing ingredient inventory and ensuring freshness and quality of all products used.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic workspace in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Decorating and presenting pastries and desserts to enhance visual appeal and customer appeal.
• Working efficiently to meet production deadlines and manage customer orders.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy market periods.
• Advising customers on pastry selections and ingredients where appropriate.
