Responsibilities

• Hospital nursing: treatment of hospitalised patients, support the surgical caseload and vet consultations
• Surgical nursing: admission/prep, anaesthetic monitoring, recovery and surgical support for procedures from desexing to orthopaedics and emergencies

About the Role

This is a flexible Casual Veterinary Nurse opportunity, ideal for someone looking to pick up additional shifts while becoming part of a supportive and experienced team. You’ll help provide coverage across team leave and ad hoc roster needs, with opportunities to work across a variety of areas within the clinic.

Our nurses play an important role in delivering exceptional patient and client care and are encouraged to use the full scope of their skills. This includes tasks like administering medications, placing intravenous catheters, drawing bloods, inducing anaesthesia, intubating patients, providing sterile surgical assistance, and performing nurse consultations.

• Hospital Nursing: Treatment of hospitalised patients, supporting the surgical caseload and consulting vet, and performing nurse consultations.
• Surgical Nursing: Patient admission and preparation, anaesthetic monitoring, patient recovery and discharge, and surgical support for procedures ranging from routine desexing and dentistry to orthopaedic procedures and complicated soft tissue procedures, as well as emergency procedures.
• Client Care & Reception: Patient check-ins, phone triage, client communication and general front-of-ouse support

Shifts may include:

• Our roster: Shifts run Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 6:00pm, and are generally 8-9 hours in length. Saturday shifts are 7:45am-3:00pm, with casual shifts available based on clinic needs and team availability.

About You

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
• Previous experience in GP vet clinics is highly regarded
• Confident across reception, consults, and surgical nursing
• Passion for high clinical standards and delivering compassionate patient care
• Calm, organised, and flexible mindset with strong communication skills
