Job summary

Westbrook Family Medical is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis, covering both Westbrook and Cambooya locations in Queensland. You will greet patients, manage bookings, assist with registration and check-in, maintain confidential records, handle inquiries, and perform general admin tasks to support the smooth running of the practice.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality in handling patient information.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical receptionist or customer service roles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; professional and empathetic.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using medical practice management software and standard office software.
• Understanding of medical terminology and patient confidentiality protocols.
• Availability to work on a casual basis, including weekend rostered shifts.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors warmly.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments, including phone bookings.
• Assist with patient registration and check-in procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality.
• Handle general inquiries and provide information to patients.
• Perform basic administrative tasks to support the practice.
• Adhere to practice policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
