Job summary

Westbrook Family Medical is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis, covering both Westbrook and Cambooya locations in Queensland. You will greet patients, manage bookings, assist with registration and check-in, maintain confidential records, handle inquiries, and perform general admin tasks to support the smooth running of the practice.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality in handling patient information.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical receptionist or customer service roles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; professional and empathetic.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using medical practice management software and standard office software.
• Understanding of medical terminology and patient confidentiality protocols.
• Availability to work on a casual basis, including weekend rostered shifts.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our patients, managing appointment bookings, and supporting the overall smooth operation of our medical practice. This position offers flexibility with a casual work arrangement. The position will cover both of our locations, Westbrook and Cambooya Family Medical, Queensland.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting patients and visitors in a warm and welcoming manner
• Scheduling and managing patient appointments, including telephone bookings
• Assisting with patient registration and check-in procedures
• Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality
• Handling general inquiries and providing information to patients
• Performing basic administrative tasks to support the practice
• Adhering to all practice policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a customer service role
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients and staff in a professional and empathetic manner
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in using medical practice management software and standard office software

• Availability to work on a casual basis, including annual and personal leave, and Saturday mornings based on the roster
