Job summary

Chisholm Institute is seeking experienced and student-focused Teachers for our Engineering team, specifically for Mechanical. This casual teaching role offers flexible hours at the Dandenong campus with a commitment to inclusive, high-quality vocational education.

Applicants should hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent, together with AQF-level qualifications relevant to teaching, and current industry currency.

Qualifications

• Registration with professional bodies as required
• Evidence of Vocational Competency mapped to Units of Competency

Responsibilities

• Plan teaching sessions reflecting effective engagement of learners
• Ensure materials meet regulatory standards and training packages
• Maintain a positive learning environment and encourage learner responsibility
• Adapt learning and assessment materials for diverse students and environments
• Undertake administrative, coordination, and learning services tasks linked to teaching areas
• Assist in establishing, maintaining, and reviewing teaching programs
• Maintain a respectful, safe environment free from discrimination and harassment

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a teacher – Mechanical your key responsibilities include-

• Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners
• Ensure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards, training packages and related requirements
• Establish and maintain a positive learning environment, including encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning
• Adapt learning and assessment materials to cater for different students, learning environments, facilities, and resources
• Undertake a range of administrative, coordination, and learning services activities directly related to the areas taught
• Assist in relation to the establishment, maintenance, and review of teaching programs
• Maintain a respectful, and safe environment free from discrimination, bullying and harassment.

ABOUT YOU

You are a highly motivated individual with well-developed skills in transferring knowledge, including the ability to research, select and use a wide range of learning resources and assessment tools.

Qualifications required for the role

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or willingness to obtain or qualifications that meet the Standards for RTOs 2025
• Vocational qualifications at AQF level relevant to the level of teaching required
• Registration with relevant professional bodies as required for the teaching discipline
• A record of Vocational Competency, mapped to Units of Competency engaged to deliver
• A record of Professional Currency, demonstrating current industry and teaching knowledge
