Job summary

Monash University is seeking a casual Learning Designer to support the redevelopment and alignment of two foundational psychology units within the GDP and BPsych programs. You will shape engaging, accessible and inclusive learning experiences focusing on UDL, active and relational learning, and media that works across synchronous and asynchronous delivery.

This short-term project involves 40 hours total, distributed across roughly 4 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience designing engaging, inclusive and accessible learning experiences across delivery modes.
• Strong knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
• Experience designing for asynchronous and synchronous learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Review existing learning materials and provide advice on contemporary learning design and pedagogy.
• Identify opportunities to improve accessibility, engagement, navigation, consistency and alignment with learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with academic staff in a co-design process to develop learning activities that scaffold student learning.
• Support engagement with assessment and enable achievement of learning outcomes across GDP and BPsych programs.
• Contribute to an iterative design process focused on inclusivity and accessibility.

The Opportunity

The School of Psychological Sciences is seeking a casual Learning Designer to support the redevelopment and alignment of two foundational psychology units across the Graduate Diploma of Psychology (GDP) and Bachelor of Psychology (BPsych) programs. Working collaboratively with academic staff, you will help shape engaging, accessible and inclusive learning experiences, with a focus on Universal Design for Learning (UDL), active and relational learning, and effective synchronous and asynchronous learning design.

This is a short-term project involving 40 hours of work (approximately 4 hours per week), where you will bring your learning design expertise to an iterative and collaborative co-design process. You will review existing learning materials, provide advice on contemporary learning design and pedagogy, and identify opportunities to improve accessibility, engagement, navigation, consistency and alignment with learning outcomes across both programs.

About You

You will be an experienced Learning Designer with demonstrated expertise in designing engaging, inclusive and accessible learning experiences across different modes of delivery. You will have strong knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and experience designing for both asynchronous and synchronous learning environments, with an understanding of how to create active, relational and engaging learning experiences across different modes of delivery that support diverse student cohorts .

You will be collaborative, proactive and comfortable working in an evolving project environment where requirements may not always be fully defined. You will bring sound judgement, creative thinking and the confidence to provide evidence-informed learning design advice and recommendations to academic staff, while working collaboratively to develop learning activities that effectively scaffold student learning, support engagement with assessment, and enable the achievement of learning outcomes.
