Job summary

VU Online Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking an Associate Learning Designer to join our dynamic, student‑centred team. You will design engaging online learning experiences that support university outcomes and work with subject matter experts to deliver high‑quality material.

This full-time hybrid role offers opportunities to advance learning design capabilities, leverage Brightspace and Articulate 360, and contribute to innovative online education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, IT or Information Systems or equivalent.
• Demonstrated understanding of leveraging technology to create exceptional learning experiences.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems, preferably Brightspace.
• Experience using digital learning tools including Articulate 360, iMovie and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across stakeholders.
• Ability to deliver multiple project outcomes within competing timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop innovative learning solutions aligned to curricula and outcomes.
• Design and develop interactive, multimedia learning activities and assessments.
• Ensure materials adhere to instructional design, accessibility, and UX best practices.
• Provide support to course facilitators and students to enhance learning experiences.
• Stay up-to-date with trends and technologies in online education and improve offerings.
• Contribute to the growth of VU Online's learning design capabilities.

About the role

This role offered flexibility and hybrid working (2 days in office, 3 days from home). Based in Melbourne's CBD, at VUs state of the art City Tower building, we are seeking an Associate Learning Designer to join our dynamic team at VU Online Pty Ltd in Melbourne. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for designing engaging and effective online learning experiences that support the educational goals of our university students. The role is a hybrid position with a blend of working from home and in the office.

What you'll be doing

Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop innovative learning solutions that align with curriculum requirements and learning outcomes

Provide assistance in designing and developing interactive and multimedia-rich learning activities and assessments

Ensure online course materials adhere to best practices in instructional design, accessibility, and user experience

Provide support and guidance to course facilitators and students to enhance the learning experience

Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in online education and continually improve our course offerings

Contribute to the overall growth and development of VU Online's learning design capabilities

Key Selection Criteria

• A Bachelor’s qualification or higher in a relevant field (such as Education, IT or Information Systems) and significant relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.


• Demonstrated understanding of how technology can be leveraged to create exceptional learning experiences.


• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Learning Management Systems, preferably Brightspace.


• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of using digital learning tools, including Articulate 360, iMovie and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.


• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.


• Ability to deliver simultaneous project outcomes within competing timeframes.


• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of how-to best leverage GenAI to create exceptional learning experiences.
