Job summary

SeaLink South East Queensland, part of the Kelsian Group, is seeking a Casual Deckhand for Cleveland and Redland Bay. The role focuses on customer service, safety, and assisting in the operation and upkeep of the vessel.

You will work closely with vessel crews, support loading procedures, and contribute to emergency response plans while maintaining high standards of presentation and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven customer service experience in maritime or transport settings.
• Adherence to Work Health and Safety requirements.
• Ability to work across a 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safe daily operations of the vessel.
• Identify safety concerns and assist with implementation to prevent incidents.
• Participate in emergency response plans and procedures.
• Monitor passenger and vehicle loading with clear directions to passengers.
• Maintain overall vessel cleanliness and deck maintenance.
• Secure mooring lines and inspect equipment as required.
• Carry out deck patrols and protect vessel while berthed.
• Follow Safety Management System and participate in emergency drills.
• Manage ticket sales and checks in line with procedures.
