Job summary

Storage Plus is seeking an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join our Sydney team on a casual basis with a pathway to full-time employment. You will operate counterbalance and multi-directional forklifts, move loads up to 3 tonnes, and manage pallets and goods within a busy warehouse using a tablet.

This role offers onsite parking, full training on our internal system, and a supportive team environment with a genuine pathway to full-time work for the right person.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current LF Forklift Licence.
• At least 5 years of proven warehouse forklift experience.
• Experience operating counterbalance forklifts.
• Experience operating a multi-directional counterbalance forklift.
• Demonstrated ability to safely manoeuvre large and heavy loads.
• Excellent spatial awareness and forklift control.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Comfortable using a tablet for basic tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating counterbalance forklifts and multi-directional counterbalance forklifts.
• Move 10 cubic metre storage boxes and pallets up to 3 tonnes.
• Load, unload, and relocate pallets and other items up to 3 tonnes.
• Manoeuvre large storage boxes and pallets in confined areas.
• Use a warehouse app on a tablet/smartphone to manage updates and stock movements.
• Communicate with office staff, drivers and customers.
• Follow WHS procedures and company policies.
• Work on a rotating roster, including weekend shifts.

Casual Counterbalance & Multi-Directional Counterbalance Forklift Driver – Sydney

Experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver | Casual to Full-Time Pathway | Sydney

Storage Plus is a growing Australian self-storage company looking for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join our Sydney team. This is a casual role on a rotating roster, with a genuine pathway to full-time work for the right person.

This position would suit an experienced forklift operator who is confident working in a warehouse environment and has the skill and judgement to safely manoeuvre a variety of different loads.

About the Role

This is not a “forklift only” position. You will be part of our warehouse operations team and will be responsible for safely moving customer storage boxes, pallets and goods around the facility.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely operating counterbalance forklifts and multi-directional counterbalance forklifts
• Moving 10 cubic metre storage boxes in and out of warehouse stacks, weighing up to 2 tonne
• Loading, unloading and relocating pallets and other items weighing up to 3 tonne
• Manoeuvring large storage boxes/pallets safely in confined warehouse areas
• Using a warehouse app on a tablet or smartphone to manage job updates and stock movements
• Communicating with office staff, drivers and customers
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures and company policies
• Working across a rotating roster, including weekend shifts.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is an experienced and highly competent forklift operator, rather than someone who simply holds a forklift licence. Experience in self-storage, mobile-storage, logistics, warehousing or container handling will be highly regarded.

To be considered, you will need:

• A current LF Forklift Licence
• At least 5 years of proven warehouse forklift experience
• Proven experience operating a counterbalance forklift
• Proven experience operating a multi-directional counterbalance forklift
• Demonstrated ability to safely manoeuvre large and heavy loads
• Experience working with loads up to or around 3 tonne
• Excellent spatial awareness and forklift control
• A strong understanding of safe forklift operating practices
• A careful and professional approach to handling customers' goods
• Confidence using a tablet for basic work tasks
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A flexible attitude towards rostered shifts and changing operational requirements
